This is a junior speech, mime and acting class. Half the class is speech and mime training and the second half is on acting. There is an emphasis on Speech Training (formerly known as Elocution) both for performance and everyday communication. This acting and speech class is also suitable for children with speech problems and lazy speech.
Students will work on: Storytelling, Speaking and Writing Poetry, Reading Aloud, Speech, Improvisation and Theatre Games.
They are also introduced to the art of Mime and work is prepared for grade examination in Speech and Drama and Feiseanna.
The drama aspect of the course encourages personality development and building confidence and creativity. Work covers: Theatre Games, Movement to Music, Sensitivity Training, Improvisation, Characterisation, Introduction to Script.
